Amber Taylor takes on Top 40 July 13th, 2001 B104.7 (WBBS) midday jock Amber Taylor has added to her duties the midday shift at Utica’s top 40 station WSKS (Kiss-FM). She’ll voice track her show using the name Grace Kruz. She also keeps her Amber Taylor country gig at Utica’s Bob 102.5 (WRBY). All three stations are owned by Clear Channel Communications.
Paul Harvey out through August July 11th, 2001 Paul Harvey, who has been off the air for a couple of months due to severe laryngitis, is expected to be away from the microphone for at least another six weeks.
Galaxy Communications moves to Armory Square July 7th, 2001 The folks at Galaxy Communications have settled into and begun broadcasting from their new digs in Armory Square. The Walton Street studios and offices house operations for TK-99/TK-105, Sunny 102, and K-Rock stations.
New call letters for WVOQ July 4th, 2001 Former religious-formatted WVOQ at 105.1 FM in DeRuyter has changed their call letters to WXBB. The station, which was recently acquired by Clear Channel Communications, has be simulcasting B104.7’s (WBBS) signal since mid-June.
