With the recent installation of a new 35,000 watt propane-powered generator at its main transmitting facility, WRVO will now be able to continue broadcasting its signal during emergency power outages.
"Listeners to WRVO from a 19 county area served by the five station network have generously matched the major contribution from Lockheed-Martin to cover the cost of the generator and its installation."
According to general manager John Krauss, "this new generator will allow WRVO to remain on the air when listeners need emergency information the most."
The WRVO Stations broadcast from transmitters in Syracuse (WRVD 90.3), Watertown (WRVJ 91.7), Utica (WRVN 91.9), Cortland (WSUC 90.5), and Oswego (WRVO 89.9).
