February 20, 2004 by Scott Jameson

570 WSYR has hired a news director. Dave Bullard, who joined the staff in December in a part-time capacity, will take on the full-time job of heading up the station's news department.

WSYR has been without a news director for the past five months following Bill Carey's move to News 10 Now.Part of the deal involves a partnership of sorts with Bullard's other news gig as managing editor of a number of local news web sites in Fulton, Oswego, Baldwinsville, and Liverpool.

Bullard has a long history in Syracuse radio and television news including stints at 62 WHEN and WTVH 5.
