WEAR’s Eric Wellman has been awarded the Hearst Prize in radio journalism for his coverage of the Northeast blackout of 2003.
The kudos come with a $5,000 check for Wellman and also for Syracuse University. Wellman, a reporter for WAER, is a student at the Newhouse School.
