One tiny detail the insiders at WFIZ forgot to mention when they notified us about the station launch last week -- they haven't yet hired the jocks that'll be taking to the airwaves after their 10,000-song non-stop music marathon is over.
PD Tommy Frank is looking to hire personalities for all dayparts... and those 10,000 songs will slowly but surely end sooner or later. (GM Frank Lischak told us he expects that to happen mid-October.) In other words, there's no time to waste if you wanna get in on the ground floor. Here's the job opening Tommy Frank posted on AllAccess.com earlier:
Be A Part of Radio History
We are a brand new CHR in Ithaca New York. We launched with 10,000 songs in a row, and now we are looking for talent. If you do a show, an actual show - send me your best stuff quick. We are looking for all dayparts and you must be topical, do great phones, and be ready to hit the streets. We are a brand new station, with brand new state of the art facilities and locally owned. This is an opportunity to be a part of history in Ithaca radio and get noticed as you help us post this victory. Send everything that will convince me you are right for this gig.
