UTICA-ROME - Less than a year after being hired to host mornings on Mix 102.5 (WUMX), Sammy Schreier has exited the station. UPDATE: Program Director Ted Bradford confirms Schreier's exit.
We noticed the absences on Friday, and PD Ted Bradford told us he'd "touch base soon" with further details. Today, Bradford confirms Schrier's departure. Even though Galaxy's job openings page doesn't list an opening, Bradford tells CNYRadio.com the change had nothing to do with budget cuts. Rather, Bradford says this was a "not working out as expected" situation.
Bradford couldn't comment on the station's long-term plans for morning drive on WUMX, but promised to keep us posted. Until then, "the Christmas music will be front and center," he says. The station suspended its regular format to go all-Christmas earlier this month.
Previous to being hired at Mix 102.5 in April, Schreier produced the morning show at WBEE in Rochester.
