SYRACUSE - There's a very familiar name coming to Classic Hits 92.1 WSEN. The man famous for hosting "American Bandstand" and decades of New Years' Eve countdowns is joining the station's weekend schedule.
If you guessed we're talking about Dick Clark, you're right. According to this morning's Taylor on Radio-Info newsletter, Clark is merging his "Rock, Roll and Remember" show with "Rewind with Gary Bryan." The latter currently airs on WSEN on Saturdays from 6-9am.
Taylor reports the show will be titled "Dick Clark Presents Rewind with Gary Bryan." Taylor says Clark will "contribute vignettes" to the program, giving the impression that Bryan will continue to handle primary hosting duties.
Clark, who recently turned 79, started his broadcasting career in Central New York, with stints at Utica's WRUN and WKTV, and Syracuse's legendary WOLF in the 1940s and 50s.
