POTW: WTLB Reunion (2006)

January 16, 2009 by CNYRadio.com

UTICA-ROME -- Instead of our usual (and often unproductive) tirade of searching station websites for new POTW candidates, we decided to try Google Image Search.  It took awhile, but we finally struck gold with a reunion of WTLB staffers.

From left: Bill (Jim) Paris, Jerry Reed, Jim Kenyon, Joe Tierno, Janice Kenyon, Peter Cavanaugh and Dan O'Neil.

Where are they now?  From our own personal knowledge, we know Reed works in PR for Turning Stone Casino, and Jim Kenyon is a reporter at Syracuse's WSTM-TV.  We found this photo on Cavanaugh's website, where he says he now lives in Fresno, CA.

Jeff Moulton writes to tell us this picture was taken at Cavallo's in New Hartford in October 2007.  He also corrects the name of the man on the far left side of the photo -- that's Bill (Jim) Paris.  Thanks for your note Jeff, and to Jerry Reed for posting comments below with additional information.  If you can help with additional info, add your own comments below with Jerry's.

  1. The photo was take at Cavallo's Restaurant in New Hartford, NY. Date September 23, 2006. There were about 35 present. Joe Tierno was the master planner for the event.

  2. Thank you, Jeff Moulton, for properly identifying Bill Paris in that WTLB picture from September of 2006, although I suggest he does slightly resemble the historical figure cited on my web page. I have discovered that folks believe that might have actually been Bill's air name on 1310, so I probably should qualify the identification.

    Or not.

    Not.

WTLB was a GREAT facility and owned Utica in the early '60's.

    All memories there are treasured.

  3. Looks like it's been a while since anyone posted here. Is anyone still reading this? lol Bigger question: Can anyone put me in touch with Joe Tierno? I understand he's still in the Utica area and I may have his distributor cap!
