NEW YORK CITY -- Effective today, ABC Radio Networks is history. Owner Citadel Broadcasting, who acquired the network and 22 radio stations from Disney in 2007, has renamed the network "Citadel Media."
According to reports published in Mediaweek and elsewhere, Citadel will continue to use the heritage network's name for individual products like "ABC News Radio." It also retains the "ESPN Radio" brand name through a long-term contract included in the terms of the 2007 sale.
Citadel owns four stations in the Syracuse market, but Citadel Media's syndicated offerings include a wide range of talent carried by stations owned by different companies in all four markets covered by CNYRadio.com.
