SYRACUSE -- Two years and a day after Don Imus was fired by CBS Radio for making racist remarks on the air, the nationally-syndicated morning man will be returning to his former Syracuse affiliate, SportsRadio 620 WHEN.
The Clear Channel station has posted an announcement on its website, stating Imus will return to WHEN's weekday lineup, effective Monday, April 13. If you checked the Fox News article we linked above (or happen to have a really good memory), you'll note Imus was fired by CBS Radio -- and effectively taken off all his affiliate stations -- on April 12, 2007.
Although Imus returned to the airwaves that same November, it would be an additional month before he returned to the lineup at Utica-Rome's WXUR; and until now, most fans probably assumed he'd never return to the Syracuse airwaves.

Starting April 13th, I will be tuning in to ESPN Radio from 6-9 am.
Great to have Imus back! We've listened on the internet since he came back on air. Power was off this morning and we accidentally discovered he is back on WHEN. We're listening to the radio again now - and the sponsors we didn't hear on the internet.
