ITHACA -- After about a year of anchoring and reporting at Saga's News/Talk 870 WHCU, Todd Messer is getting ready to move on. The station has begun the search for his replacement.
Assistant PD Dave Vieser tells CNYRadio.com that Messer will be leaving "in late July, when he gets married and moves to New Jersey." And, as is the case in virtually any local radio newsroom these days, Vieser says Messer has been handling a variety of tasks.
"Todd has hosted the Evening Newswatch weeknights at 6PM, the Saturday Morning Newswatch, as well as anchor afternoon newscasts on all of the Cayuga Radio Group stations."
Update 6/23 at 9pm - Messer writes to "say thank you to the staff at WHCU for the great opportunity I had to work here." He also points out we misspelled his name originally, and for that we apologize.

WHCU is now looking for Todd’s replacement. The right candidate will have a minimum of one year experience in a newsroom. Along with anchoring and hosting news programs, Todd’s replacement will do nighttime reporting, live on-scene reporting, and website management. Strong writing skills are a must as well as the ability to handle a deadline-driven environment. There is plenty of opportunity for advancement.
