WATERTOWN -- The Fall 2009 ratings are out for the Watertown market, and there are no big surprises: perennial leader Froggy 97 (WFRY) and its country format continue to lead the pack. CHR "The Border" (WBDR) appears to be gaining steam, but remains a distant second.
The Fall 2009 ratings released by Arbitron reflect the overall listening habits of all Persons 12+, seven days a week. They do not necessarily reflect any individual station's performance within a specific target demographic or timeslot.
Stephens Media Group's WFRY took a one-point hit, 21.1 in the spring to 20.2 in the fall, while WBDR, owned by Community Broadcasters, gained nearly two points (13.6-15.5).
The two companies each hold three of the top six spots in the Watertown book, with classic rocker Z93 (WCIZ) taking third place, remaining flat from the spring. Community rocker WOTT and AC WTOJ are next, with a 6.2 and 5.4 respectively, also virtually flat from the spring.
One major change to note: Stephens news/talker WTNY, formerly tied for 4th place (with a 6.1), falls to 6th place (with a 4.7).
Overall, Stephens holds the lion's share of the market, with its stations totaling 33.5 ratings points, but Community is right on their heels, with a total of 32.6 points in the market.
