SAN ANTONIO, TX -- Nearly a year after his brother Randy gave up the presidency of Clear Channel, Mark Mays has announced he's resigning as the company's CEO. Clear Channel owns six stations in the Syracuse market, including three of the top five stations according to the latest publicly-available ratings P12+.
Radio Online reports Mark Mays will be giving up his CEO role as soon as owners Thomas Lee Partners and Bain Capital announce their choice of successor. However, he will continue to serve as Chairman of the CC Media Board of Directors until at least 2013. His brother Randy continues to serve as Vice Chairman of the Board.
Clear Channel employees were notified, as usual, through a "Note from Mark" email yesterday.
