SYRACUSE -- Bill Ali, known to local radio listeners as "Producer Bill" from The Jim Reith Show on WSYR, has announced his rock band, Dirty Little Secret, will be opening for Bret Michaels at the Regional Market Block Party on August 5th.
While we don't normally report on individual concerts, this one's notable as Bret Michaels made plenty of headlines earlier this year. Known best as the lead singer of Poison, Michaels had a rocky spring -- less than two weeks after being rushed to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy, he wound up in critical condition following a massive brain hemorrhage. Michaels was released two weeks later, only to be readmitted in late May for numbness, which doctors say, turned out to be caused by a hole in the heart -- a condition which was operable.
Ali tells CNYRadio.com he's selling advance sale tickets for the August 5 concert himself -- $20 each. (If you purchase them at the door that night, it's $25.) You can reach Ali at billjali@gmail.com or 952-8164. He says his band, Dirty Little Secret, plays the same type of music Poison is known for. Gates open at 5:30 and the show starts at 6:00.
