ITHACA/CORTLAND -- The nationally-syndicated "MVP Sports Imaging" service says ESPN 1160 (WPIE) is among a handful of new additions to its client list.
As reported by AllAccess.com, the production service aimed at sports-formatted stations is syndicated nationwide by Compass Media Networks. WPIE joins new MVP clients in several other markets, including stations in Seattle, Green Bay and Sacramento. MVP's client list now reportedly totals 45 stations.
Although All Access states WPIE is owned by Pembrook Pines, the station was actually sold to Taughannock Media back in September, after the FCC approved a deal first announced in August.
The new ownership promised to expand its offerings of locally-produced live broadcasts and sports talk: it made a big step towards that goal in October, hiring Jim MacKay to host a new afternoon drive talk show and provide play-by-play for high school sports broadcasts.
