RICHMOND, VA -- Former WKTV anchorman Ryan Nobles recently got some national press, which in turn, is likely bringing more traffic to his blog. The popular political news website Politico recently named Nobles one of their top "50 Politicos to Watch."
A recent article from Utica Daily News explains how Nobles wound up in Virginia, even though he and his wife -- former WKTV anchor Karey Kirkpatrick -- originally thought they'd be making a permanent home for themselves in the Mohawk Valley. For the past few years, Nobles has been anchoring news at the NBC affiliate in Richmond.
In addition to anchoring the 4pm newscast at WWBT, Nobles writes the station-hosted blog, DecisionVirginia.com. With Virginia's political attitudes changing, the blog has picked up plenty of followers, as Nobles lands interviews with key players -- including interviews with President Obama.
Politico credits Nobles with building "a reputation as one of the most tenacious, news-breaking local reporters on the politics beat anywhere," calling the blog a "must-read for political junkies and journalists tracking the daily developments in the battleground state."
