WKTV's Don Shipman Gets Married

October 11, 2011 by

UTICA -- Our congratulations to WKTV anchor Don Shipman, who got married over the weekend.  According to the NBC affiliate, Shipman and longtime partner Adam Lawless have been planning their big day for quite awhile -- and New York State's recent legalization of same-sex marriages finally allowed their plans to become a reality.

Shipman has been working at WKTV since 2004, where he serves as the station's morning and noon anchor.  Before that, he worked in a similar capacity at WUTR, even going to Binghamton's WIVT for awhile to co-anchor the short-lived "regional" Daybreak newscast which simulcast on then-Ackerley stations WUTR, WIVT and Watertown's WWTI.
