SYRACUSE -- Michel Martin, host of NPR's weekday talk show Tell Me More, is coming to Syracuse next Wednesday. Her appearance is part of the "Leaders in Communication" series at Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. The talk will be free and open to the public.
Martin will take the floor of the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in Newhouse 3 on Wednesday, April 11 at 7:30pm. According to a press release from Newhouse, Martin's presentation is titled, "Just Because You’re a Black Woman Doesn’t Mean You’re Not The Man: My Adventures in Diversity." Members of the general public who wish to attend are advised to find parking in one of the nearby pay lots.
In addition to her experience in radio, Martin has experience print and television. Her career spans more than 25 years, working for organizations like the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal and ABC News. Martin joined NPR in 2006, and Tell Me More will reach its 5th anniversary on April 30 of this year. Tell Me More is carried locally by Oswego-based NPR affiliate 89.9 WRVO, weekdays from 1:00 to 2:00pm.
WRVO is simulcast by WRVD Syracuse, WRVN Utica and WRVJ Watertown. The station is also simulcast by FM translators in Hamilton, Norwich, Geneva and Watertown.
