UTICA-ROME -- After actor Stephen Baldwin's appearance at the Boilermaker Expo in Utica on Saturday, he needed access to a studio to co-host his nationally-syndicated "Baldwin / McCullough" radio show. Much to the surprise of Townsquare Media staff, Baldwin stopped by to set-up shop in the studio of news/talker 950 WIBX.
Here's Baldwin with Jon Carson, who was hosting the "Flashback Saturday Night" on Lite 98.7 (WLZW). Carson tells CNYRadio.com, "I had no idea he was going to be there until my shift had started." Carson says Baldwin was at the Boilermaker Expo on behalf of his mother's charity, the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. "He was very nice," Carson said, adding Baldwin "mentioned he would like to do more work with us in the future."
Longtime WIBX staffer Davey Smith took the above photo of Baldwin prepping for the show, and the below photo during the show. Smith and Carson said Baldwin brought all his own gear -- using just a laptop computer with a wireless high-speed internet connection, a microphone and a webcam.
Baldwin also posed for a photo with Smith.
The "Baldwin / McCullough" program is carried more than 300 radio stations nationwide. The show airs live on Saturdays from 9-11pm Eastern. Audio and video are also streamed live (explaining the need for a webcam).
Thanks to WLZW's Jon Carson and WIBX's Davey Smith for allowing us to share these photos on CNYRadio.com!
