UTICA-ROME -- About two months ago, we offered our first "Video of the Week," as staffers at Townsquare Media's Utica-Rome cluster danced and lip-synced to the popular Psy song "Gangnam Style." This week, the gang from Big Frog 104 (WFRG), Oldiez 96.1 (WODZ), Lite 98.7 (WLZW) and news/talker 950 WIBX are back at it again, with a Utica-centric take on the classic "Twelve Days of Christmas."
Here's the video, with details below:
The Big Frog 104 website inclides the following list of the items in each verse, which person sang the verse, and in some cases, links to other articles or pages to explain Utica's connection with the items mentioned:
1) One Rainbow Young on Varick Street – Davey Jones
2) Two Utica Clubs – Gino Geruntino
3) Three Jelly Buns -Keith James
4) Four plates of Utica Greens – Phillip Creighton
5) Five Tomato Pies – Polly Wogg
6) Six Bowls Of Riggies – Ryan Frable
7) Seven Half Moons – Kristine Bellino
8) Eights months of winter – Chris Spiwak
9) Nine Turkey Joints – Lisa Corrigan
10) Ten Salt Potatoes – Mark Richards
11) Eleven “No Left Turn” signs – Kristy Clifford
12) Twelve Tony’s Pizzaerias – Keith James
Boar guest star – Eric Meier (Editor's note: For those who don't follow Utica news, at least two boars were seen freely roaming the city last month.)
Thanks to Big Frog 104 morning co-host Polly Wogg for nominating the video for our latest Picture of the Week installment. We're always interested in a look at what's happening today in local radio or TV... or a noteable "blast from the past." If it's been awhile since your station has been featured here, all it takes is a minute to email us a photo. Send those shots to cnyradio@cnyradio.com. Thanks to reader submissions, you'll find another Picture of the Week right here, every Friday at 7:00am.
