SYRACUSE -- After more than 30 years in local radio -- the last 21 as VP and General Manager of the market's Clear Channel cluster of radio stations, Joel Delmonico is ready to call it a career. He announced his retirement plans today.
In a written statement published on allaccess.com today, Delmonico said, "I have had the privilege of working in a business I love, with exceptionally bright and talented people that I respect and admire. CLEAR CHANNEL is a great company that has consistently worked to invent efficient and effective solutions for our partners."
In the statement, Kevin Legrett, Clear Channel Senior VP/Operations Northeast, called Delmonico "a true winner and leader in every sense. I have both worked with and competed against Joel, and his unique ability to transform and lead his team of broadcasters is unparalleled."
The AllAccess story said Delmonico will retire at the end of this year. The story did not say whether a successor has been named.
