SYRACUSE -- Longtime local radio personality Becky Palmer passed away over the weekend, according to various media reports. She was best known for 22 years co-hosting mornings on iHeart's country-formatted B104.7 (WBBS), ending with her retirement in 2019.

ABC affiliate NewsChannel 9 (WSYR) reports it learned of Palmer's passing from her former co-host, Tom Owens. Although the duo retired from mornings in 2019, Owens continues to host on the weekends.

Although news of Palmer's passing does not yet appear on B104.7's website as of this writing, the station offered a tribute on Facebook:

According to NewsChannel 9, Palmer's radio career started with WSEN in the 1980s. During the 1990s, she teamed up with Ron Bee for mornings at B104.7. After Bee retired in 2007, the station paired Palmer up with Tom Owens. The two hosted mornings together until they retired in 2019, replaced by the syndicated Bobby Bones Show.

Although none of the reports we've found mention a cause of death, Palmer went public with a breast cancer diagnosis in 2013, and was considered to be a breast cancer survivor by 2019.
