SYRACUSE -- The CNYCentral cluster of TV stations is hiring a full-time news video editor. The hire will be editing video for the newscasts on NBC3 (WSTM-TV), CW6 (WSTM-DT 3.2) and CBS5 (WTVH). Here's the full posting as provided by Sinclair Broadcast Group:
WSTM/WTVH/WSTQ has an immediate opening for a full-time Video Editor.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Assemble video for newscasts using non-linear editing system on tight deadlines to get shows on the air.
Communicating clearly with producers and crews to ensure correct video gets on-air and all parties are aware of any workflow issues which may impact shows.
Recording video from a variety of local and outside sources and routing of live video signals.
Knowledge of and interest in news and current events a plus.
Familiarity with non-linear editing and Avid in particular, preferred.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
College degree or minimum one year relevant experience in commercial video production. The compensation range for this role is $16.00 - $17.50 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
