SYRACUSE — We’d like to take a moment to celebrate a notable milestone for the very website you’re reading right now… it was 25 years ago today — March 1, 2001 — that CNYRadio.com launched. Considering how many other “dot coms” have come and gone over the years, your editor is both amazed and proud that we’re still here after a quarter of a century!
Of course, none of this would be here today without the creativity and initiative set forth by Scott Jameson, who founded CNYRadio and did an excellent job running it until 2005.
While I could never hope to keep as many plates spinning as Scott had (program schedules for stations in four markets, a comic strip, robust station listings, etc.), I’ve enjoyed chronicling the happenings of local TV news and radio stations — and the people who work for them — throughout Central New York.
Most of all, this site wouldn’t be what it is without you, the readers… especially those of you who’ve provided official press releases, unofficial announcements, even anonymous tips to point us in the right direction for a story.
