This week marks CNYRadio.com’s two-year anniversary as an online source for news about the Central New York radio community. The site has continued to grow over the past twelve months, a year in which we added an online store and expanded our coverage area to include the Watertown and Ithaca markets.

What does today’s ruling by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) mean to radio in Central New York? Not much. The easing of ownership restrictions approved by the commission deals primarily with television and newspaper owners.

ESPN’s popular television show Pardon the Interruption is coming to ESPN’s radio network. The fast-paced show, hosted by Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon, will air weekdays from 7:05 – 7:30 p.m. ESPN Radio can be heard on WNSS 1260 AM in Syracuse, WNRS 1420 AM in Utica-Rome, and WNER 1410 AM in Watertown.
