SYRACUSE — In rather public fashion, Mike Lindsley has apparently resigned from Sportsradio 620 WHEN after learning his Yankees-themed talk show Pinstripe Passion was “pulled” from the lineup.

SYRACUSE – For the first time in more than 20 years, Rick Gary is back to just doing radio, and nothing else.  Today was his last day co-hosting “Bridge Street” on local ABC affiliate NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV).

UTICA-ROME — Good news for Art Bell fans: his “Somewhere in Time” series of best-of shows is now part of the weekend lineup at Newsradio 950 WIBX.

Following a move similar to what Saga did in January, Regent Communications is reportedly proposing a reverse stock split.  It’s an effort to help boost the company’s stock price, which stood at 15 cents as of 9:20am Friday.

SYRACUSE — About a week after 93Q (WNTQ) signed a deal with a new station imaging voice, the Citadel CHR’s sister rock station, Rock Radio 95X (WAQX) also has a new voice.

SYRACUSE — Galaxy Communications CEO Ed Levine received the 2009 Crystal Ball Award this evening from the Central New York Sales and Marketing Executives.

SYRACUSE — NewsChannel 9 is reporting that Galaxy Communications’ exclusive radio coverage deal to carry Syracuse University sports is being extended through 2013 — and the two sides are hoping to bring an NFL exhibition game to the Carrier Dome.

UTICA-ROME — Merv Ainsworth, a longtime WKTV engineer who helped to bring FM radio to Utica in the 1960s, died over the weekend.  He was 83 years old.

Regent and Saga are among four radio companies that announced plans today to join the “Broadcaster Traffic Consortium,” a group that distributes traffic data via radio data streams.
