Today’s Howard Stern Show was peppered with talk throughout the morning of 95X’s recent decision to bail out of Stern’s syndicated show each morning at 10 a.m.

Howard Stern is saying goodbye to the FCC and broadcast radio. The syndicated shock jock announced this morning that he has signed a five-year deal with Sirius Satellite Radio where he’ll oversee programming on three of the service’s channels and host his own morning show.

Delilah, the evening darling of light adult contemporary stations across the country, is switching syndicators. Premiere Radio Networks has signed the night personality who got her start with Jones Radio Networks.

95X has a new program director, and like the other rock stations in town, it’s a lady that’s running the show. Alexis, a 13-year veteran of the active rock station, slides into the slot left vacant by Bob O’Dell’s exit in August. She also picks up the 3-7 p.m. afternoon drive on-air shift.

After spending his entire 25-year radio career at 95X (WAQX), Dave Frisina has decided that it’s time for a change.

The latest Syracuse monthly trend numbers look good for Citadel Communications stations, particularly 93Q (WNTQ). With a .9 ratings point increase over last month’s trends, the CHR station moved past 570 WSYR into second place in 12+ numbers.

In the wake of Citadel Communications’ move to shut down its Internet division, comes word from the company that web streaming of its stations is expected to continue. Citadel, which owns Syracuse stations 93Q, 95X, Lite 105.9, and ESPN Radio 1260, has a two-year web streaming deal with Yahoo.
