UTICA/ROME — Almost eight years since Clear Channel shut down the newsroom at ABC affiliate WUTR Channel 20, the station’s current management announced today plans to revive the newsroom across the street from longtime market dominator WKTV.  Local newscasts will also be added to the lineups of Fox 33 (WFXV) and MyNetwork 11 (WPNY-LP).

UTICA — The corporate battle that resulted in NBC affiliate WKTV’s removal from certain Time Warner Cable lineups — including systems serving Utica and its immediate suburbs — has ended.  As of Saturday night, the two sides say they’ve reached a new agreement which should have WKTV back on the lineups by Sunday morning.

SYRACUSE — The new year begins with new developments in the ongoing dispute between Time Warner Cable and Sinclair Broadcast Group.  Instead of being pulled off cable lineups nationwide last night, 31 Sinclair stations — including Syracuse’s Fox 68 (WSYT) and My43 (WNYS), will remain available on cable… for at least two more weeks.

UTICA-ROME — We already told you about the battle Time Warner is facing with Sinclair-owned Syracuse TV stations WSYT and WNYS.  Now, the cable giant is reportedly in a dispute that could potentially result in Utica NBC affiliate WKTV being taken off the lineup.

UTICA-ROME — Two of the three men who fell from a Smith Hill broadcast tower on Monday have been released from the hospital… and one of the workers has already returned to climb the tower again.

Updated 10/26 at 8:00am — UTICA-ROME — NBC affiliate WKTV says three workers who fell from a transmission tower outside the station’s Smith Hill studios this morning are expected to be okay.  “None of the injuries are considered to be life threatening,” the station reported on its website, and one of the three workers has already
