Citadel may require continuous airchecks

January 17, 2002 by Scott Jameson

Citadel Communications President Bob Proffitt has asked his regional engineers to look into the feasibility of running continuous monitors of the group's stations and hold tapes or transcripts for 60 days.

Proffitt expects his regional managers will not like the idea due to the time and expense it would take. Citadel's move is in response to a general FCC request that all owners aircheck their programming. Citadel owns four stations in Syracuse including 93Q (WNTQ) and 95X (WAQX).
