Competition tightens in latest Arbitron numbers

January 26, 2002 by Scott Jameson

For the first time in several years, B104.7 (WBBS) is not alone at the top of the Arbitron ratings for Syracuse. In 12+ numbers for the fall quarter, B104.7 shares it's familiar number one ranking with fellow Clear Channel station 570 WSYR.

93Q (WNTQ) took the biggest hit with a 1.8 ratings drop, falling from second to fourth place while Citadel sister station 95X (WAQX) was the biggest gainer with a 0.9 increase.

A comparison of stations grouped by owners shows Clear Channel, Citadel, and Galaxy all losing just over a full ratings point, while Buckley remained flat.

Numbers reflect listenership for all time periods for adults 12+ from Sept. 20 to Dec. 10 and may or may not reflect similar rankings in key target sales demographics.
