Former Syracuse television news anchor and investigative reporter Sheryl Nathans died yesterday in a Pennsylvania hospice. Nathans, 55, who was diagnosed with incurable cancer two months ago, chose to "go quietly into the night" instead of fighting the disease with conventional treatments.
While known primarily as a television journalist, Nathans also hosted the issues-oriented show Every Woman Everywhere on 570 WSYR in the mid 90's.
Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick and County Executive Nick Pirro both remember Nathans in an article in this morning's Syracuse Post Standard.
