Fall ratings: WSYR bounces back, Hot 107-9 cools off

January 24, 2003 by Scott Jameson

There was good news and bad news for Clear Channel in the latest ratings for the Syracuse market released today by Arbitron. In 12+ numbers, 570 WSYR moved up from fifth to second place in the rankings with a 1.7 ratings point increase. Power 106.9 also took a jump adding 1.6 ratings points to bring the urban station up to a 3.8.The news was not as good for Hot 107-9 (WWHT) which dipped 2.2 ratings points, moving from fourth to eighth place in the rankings behind K-Rock (WKRL/WKRH/WKLL). One year ago, WWHT was within a half a point of market leader B104.7.

WSEN held on to the nice jump it received last quarter; with a 6.9, it is the station's best showing in more than two years.

Numbers are for listeners 12+ for all dayparts and are not necessarily an indicator of rankings for key sales demographics.
