Peter King provides national Columbia coverage

Up until 9:14 a.m. last Saturday, it was a typical morning at CBS Radio for Peter King.

"You could say my heart stopped for a minute," recalls the network news anchor who alerted listeners to a potential problem with the Columbia space shuttle. His reports aired around the clock for most of the day on more than 500 stations nationwide including WIBX 950 in Utica.King, 46, a graduate of Ithaca College, spent more than ten years in the Syracuse market at WHEN and WRRB.
