Mark Johnson moving to Denver

July 13, 2004 by Scott Jameson

It was an offer that he couldn't refuse. Syracuse University play-by-play announcer Mark Johnson announced he is heading west to Denver to be sports director at KOA 850. KOA is the radio home of the Denver Broncos football and Colorado Rockies baseball teams.

Johnson, 36, has been the voice of Syracuse University sports for the past two years, which included calling the basketball team's run at the national title in 2003.

Johnson's partner in the broadcast booth, Matt Park, has been named as his replacement.
