OSWEGO - NPR affiliate is looking for volunteers to answer calls during its upcoming spring fundraiser -- but first, the station is giving listeners the chance to completely avoid being hounded for pledges.
During the station's "Foneless February," WRVO has been accepting donations online and through the mail. For every $30,000 raised during February, the station says it will cut a day off its spring fundraiser.
For the time being though -- the station is still looking for volunteers willing to answer phones for the full length of the pledge drive, between March 7 and 14. The shifts last 2-4 hours, and all the work is being done at WRVO's studios on the SUNY Oswego campus. No prior training is required.
Find out more and register at WRVO's website or call the station toll-free at 1(800)-341-3690.
WRVO programming is simulcast in Syracuse, Utica, Watertown, and part-time in Cortland. More details about the simulcasts in the CNYRadio.com Station Wiki.
