Walk-Up Radio 20th Show Postponed

June 24, 2009 by CNYRadio.com

Updated 6/25 at 5:15pm - Seen on Walk Up Radio's Twitter page: Due to a family emergency, the Dave Matthews tickets will be given out at a later date. Walk-Up is cancelled tonight. So sorry.

Original article posted 6/24: SYRACUSE -- Roughly four months since a few local radio personalities and comedians teamed up to form "Walk-Up Radio," the weekly podcast is hoping for a big audience for it's 20th show, which tapes this Thursday (6/25).

While the venue for the show has changed since it started in February (they're now at the Bull & Bear Pub on Syracuse's Hanover Square), the time is still the same: Thursdays at 6pm.

Hosts Josh Grosvent, Kevin Keefe and Hunter Scott start the show much like any other 3-person talk show -- offering their take on current events and pop culture.   But the show's main attraction (and namesake) comes into play when bar patrons inevitably accept the temptation to "Walk-Up" to an open mic at any time, to chime in with whatever they want to talk about.

Keefe tells CNYRadio.com he can't release details, but they're hoping to make the 20th show a big one -- and that means a big audience. Admission is free: you just pay for what you consume -- and in some cases, the bar offers specials and discounts during the show.

You may recall, Walk-Up Radio isn't found on any local station: after the show is over, the trio trim it down to the very best parts to form a podcast that lasts roughly 30-45 minutes.  The finished shows appear a few days later on the group's website at walkupradio.com.
