OSWEGO -- The WRVO Stations are calling on listeners with some artistic talent to help celebrate their 40th anniversary. They're accepting designs for a special edition coffee mug which will be made available this fall.
In an e-mail sent to listeners today, WRVO Membership Manager Elizabeth Christensen says the mugs "will be offered as a thank you item during our upcoming Fall fundraiser." But the person who submits the winning design won't need to make a pledge to see their design come to life. "The winner gets bragging rights... AND a set of six mugs to share with friends and family and a personalized tour of WRVO," says Christensen.
According to the official rules, "The image can be anything you'd like, but should relate to radio and what WRVO means to you and your day to day life." There's no need to include a WRVO logo, because the winning entry on the front side of the mugs will be accompanied by the station's logo on the back side of the mugs.
WRVO has special web page for the contest, which details all the specifics about image sizes, colors, resolution and other technical and legal requirements for submissions.
The deadline for submissions is August 14th at 5pm. WRVO staff will select five finalists. On August 19th, those five finalist designs will be posted on the WRVO website and put up for a public vote. The winning design will announced on August 31.
WRVO first signed on the air in 1969. It has since extended its range with repeaters and/or translators in Utica, Watertown, Syracuse, Cortland and Hamilton, along with online streams of both WRVO and WRVO-HD2.
