ITHACA -- To use a long-standing radio cliché, call it a WICB "doubleshot," both in terms of CNYRadio.com articles, and in terms of being named the best college radio station in the country.
According to a press release on the college's website, the student-run station has been ranked #1 college radio station in the 2010 edition of the Princeton Review's “The Best 371 Colleges.” Ithaca also appears on the list of best college theater programs, ranking 9th in the nation.
The publication's seemingly-random title comes from the fact that it lists the top 20 schools in 62 different categories, and many of the schools ranked in multiple categories. (There's no "overall" list from 1 to 371 or an overall best school; it just happens there are 371 different schools mentioned when you count the names listed in all the categories.)
You may recall last November, WICB won a similar title as part of the mtvU cable network's "Woody Awards." Those awards were given based on internet voting; the a top official at the Princeton Review says their rankings are based on "institutional data we gather about schools, feedback from students attending them and input from our staff who visit hundreds of colleges a year."
