SYRACUSE -- Clear Channel's Newsradio 570 WSYR is hoping you'll help them to rebuild a Syracuse playground tomorrow. Pledge lines will be open for the "Let's Rebuild the Playground Radiothon" from 6am to 7pm Tuesday.
Money will go towards rebuilding the Wallie Howard Jr. Memorial Playground at the city's Van Duyn Elementary School. Six children are accused of burning down the playground on July 25th. The structure was built by volunteers in 1995, in honor of a Syracuse police officer who lost his life in the line of duty.
Pledges can be phoned in at (315) 472-0638 on Tuesday between 6am and 7pm. You can also pledge online anytime at 570wsyr.com.
WSYR says the first $5000 in contributions will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Central New York Community Foundation.
