UTICA-ROME -- Nothing beats a nice HD big screen when it comes to football, but if you're stuck at work or on the road during any big games this season, Newsradio 950 WIBX has you covered. The station has inked a deal to carry Westwood One's NFL Prime Time lineup, which includes the biggest game of all.
Program Director and SportsWatch co-host Gene Conte tells CNYRadio.com the deal means WIBX will be carrying "all Sunday night, Monday night and Thursday night games, along with the playoffs and the Super Bowl."
The deal also includes "select Sunday afternoon games after NASCAR season is over." The Regent Communications-owned station has been carrying live coverage of NASCAR since last July.
Conte says he's glad that "the addition of the NFL will compliment our local sports coverage including Friday night high school football and Utica College football on Saturdays."
