UTICA-ROME -- Less than a week after Kiss-FM (WSKS/WSKU) night jock "Intern Dave" Wheeler was shown the door from the Roser Communications Network duo, there's a new personality on the air. But don't count on meeting Jackson Blue at any station remotes -- it's a long drive from Texas.
The Kiss-FM website shows Jackson Blue's syndicated "Party Playhouse" in the 7p-Mid slot formerly occupied by Wheeler.
Texas is where Blue calls home, according to his profile on Blogger, where he maintains several websites. Among them, one for his show, and another where he contributes news on celebrity dirt (appropriately named, "Dirty Dirt Dirt").
A quick Google search reveals Blue's home base is Kiss-FM --the one owned by Clear Channel in Dallas. The search also shows the "Party Playhouse" affiliate list includes stations in Boston; Lafayette, IN; Cookeville, TN; Peoria, IL; and Texarkana, AR, just to name a few.
Wheeler was fired last Thursday, less than 24 hours after he announced plans to step down to part-time status following "developments and conversations" about internal affairs at the station. This follows the firing of middayer Jesse Jordan last Tuesday, after she reportedly refused to accept reassignment to the wake-up shift.
