ITHACA -- With the "soap opera" in Utica ending, we're reminded of a job that's been open even longer -- at Saga's News Talk 870 WHCU. Since mid-June, the station has been searching for a news anchor/reporter to replace Todd Messer, who left the area after getting married in July. APD Dave Vieser shares the posting once again:
The Cayuga Radio Group is seeking a full-time reporter/anchor to join our Ithaca news team. The right individual will have at least a year experience in news writing, some on-air broadcast experience, and a desire to investigate and break news. While the position is primarily focused on reporting in the late afternoon and evening, it also includes anchoring newscasts on WHCU and providing newscasts for our 6 other stations. This position is deadline driven, includes live reporting, and requires knowledge of local and state politics and community issues. This is an immediate opening, so resumes, writing samples, and audio should be sent without delay to the news director, 1751 Hanshaw Rd., Ithaca NY 14850. Or you can email (no larger than 10MB) to gdunn@cyradiogroup.com. No phone calls. Cayuga Radio Group is an equal opportunity employer. This is a full-time position with benefits including health care insurance, 401K, and more.
