SYRACUSE -- A mix of national and local acts are on the bill for the 4th annual KRock (WKRL/WKRH/WKLL) Dysfunctional Family BBQ. The station says the concert is set for Sunday, May 29th at Chevy Court at the New York State Fairgrounds. Tickets go on sale Saturday morning.
KRock PD Nixon tells CNYRadio.com he's booked national recording artists Drowning Pool, Cavo, Cold, Story of the Year, Evans Blue and Violent Soho. On the local side, Utica-based band Nine Ball will perform as well. Gates open at 11am, with performances beginning at noon. Nixon says Dinosaur Bar-B-Que and Limp Lizard will be catering the event.
Tickets go on sale Saturday morning at 10am through Ticketmaster, KROCK.COM and "various local locations." Nixon says "select ticket outlets" will offer a "limited number" of presale tickets for $10. Once those are gone, the regular ticket price is $15, and tickets sold day-of-show will be $20.
Our thanks to Nixon for including firstname.lastname@example.org on his press release distribution list. If you've got a big station event in the works, make sure to let us know about it so we can let everyone else know about it. Same goes for any other news happening at your station -- even if you don't have time for an "official" press release, we always accept informal messages too.
Can we brng cameras to DFB?
@Leatherknight - Not sure, since we aren't Krock, but their website doesn't say you can't. With cameras being included in so many devices anymore, it's nearly impossible for concerts to ban cameras like they used to years ago. Not to mention, if people take pictures and post them online, that's free publicity for Krock... so I'd be surprised if they banned cameras.
