MIAMI, FL -- From the "better late than never" file, we've just learned former Syracuse and Utica personality Jeanne Ashley is on the move to Miami. Her last day with Star 102 (KCKC) in Kansas City was April 23, and starting next week, she'll be hosting evenings at Miami's 101.5 Lite FM (WYLF).
News of Ashley's new job was reported by AllAccess.com on April 30, but we somehow missed the story until today. The website says Ashley was chosen by WLYF management following a candidate search which lasted three months. Ashley begins her new shift on Lite FM next Thursday, May 20.
During her 11 year run at KCKC, Ashley also served as the station's APD, MD, and for some time, she was shifted from middays to mornings, then back to middays.
Prior to moving west, Ashley hosted middays at Syracuse's Y94FM (WYYY), from 1996-1999. Even after leaving for Kansas City, Y94FM hired Ashley to voice liners and imaging for the station's former Love Songs at Night show in 2002.
Before Syracuse, Ashley was midday host and music director at Utica's Lite 98.7 (WLZW). Ashley also made a virtual return to Utica recently, when she provided some liners and voicetracks for the station's "20th Anniversary Reunion Weekend" last November.
