SYRACUSE -- You've heard her on the radio, you've seen her on television, and for the next few weeks, you'll even see the smiling face of 93Q (WNTQ) morning co-host Amy Robbins all over the area -- in supermarket checkout lanes, on newsstands, and elsewhere. She's featured on the cover of the premiere issue of a new local magazine.
That's Amy on the left, her co-host Ted Long on the right, and Citadel Broadcasting Account Executive Nancy Miller in the center. They're all posing with a larger-than-life display of the February 2011 cover of Today's CNY Woman magazine, published by Scotsman Press. We're told the magazine was debuted during a special gala celebration at the AXA Towers on Wednesday night.
While the magazine is geared toward women, any local radio enthusiast will enjoy the five page cover story that awaits inside. The article offers a profile of Amy's career, along with her thoughts on how she and co-host Ted Long have managed to survive "longer than most marriages," with 22 years and counting at 93Q. The article also mentions how hundreds of 93Q listeners will have the chance for some quality bonding time with Amy next month, during the annual "Amy's Slumber Party" at a local hotel.
If you can't seem to find Today's CNY Woman in stores, you can read it online for free -- the article begins on page 24.
Our thanks to Mark Mangicaro for taking this photo, sending it in, and including the link to the online magazine. There's a new Picture of the Week every Friday -- but we can't do it without your help! We're always looking for shots of what's happening today at your station, or a fond look back at the past. And it doesn't just have to be radio -- you guys in TV are welcome to take part too! Send those shots to email@example.com or upload them through the Contact Form.
