OSWEGO -- NPR affiliate WRVO is putting out the call for applications for a Technology/Innovation Reporter. Ryan Morden, who currently occupies the post, is leaving early next month, so the clock is ticking to find a replacement.
WRVO Assistant GM for Content Fred Vigeant tells CNYRadio.com that Morden has decided to pursue other opportunities, and he'd like to "get this filled sooner rather than later."
This is the position created just shy of a year ago, as part of the "Innovation Trail" grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. The Innovation Trail is a cooperative effort between WRVO and a handful of other stations, documenting "the connection between technological breakthroughs and the revitalization of upstate New York's economy."
Morden, who joined WRVO as producer for the local segments of Morning Edition, was promoted to the reporter position last June.
In addition to WRVO, other Innovation Trail stations include WXXI/Rochester, WNED/Buffalo, WSKG/Binghamton and WMHT/Albany. Reports filed by staffers at each station are shared with the other stations in the cooperative.
Check the Jobs page on WRVO's website for a full description of the job and its requirements. Applications are also being accepted through the website.
