SYRACUSE -- After a week off, the Picture of the Week is back with a combo you don't see together every day. Former NewsChannel 9 anchor-turned-"Bridge Street" co-host Julie Abbott came out of retirement to join WSYR radio afternoon host Jim Reith to host the Syracuse Press Club's annual scholarship and awards dinner last weekend.
Apologies for the less-than-stellar quality of this photo, taken from my table at the awards dinner. This was the best I could get without actually getting up and walking in front of everyone to get the shot. After seeing how dark and/or blurry the other shots were, I gave up on trying to photograph more winners -- but the SPC did have a photographer on hand, and hopefully they'll post those online at some point.
With that out of the way, we will say Jim and Julie did a wonderful job at the podium. Kudos to the organizers of the dinner for inviting these two to serve as hosts.
We missed Picture of the Week last Friday, regrettably due to the fact we've exhausted our supply of reader submissions and we simply didn't have time to go looking at various websites for one to "borrow." We hope you'll help us avoid that from happening again -- before last week, it had been quite awhile since we missed a week.
