SYRACUSE -- They worked in the same Syracuse radio cluster almost ten years ago, and soon they'll be working together again -- in Arkansas. Oswego native Jamie Vivlemore -- better-known as JJ Ryan -- tells CNYRadio.com he's enjoying a recent promotion, and he's hired another former Syracuse broadcaster as one of his first official moves in the new role.
Ryan writes to tell us he's now the Operations Manager for the Cumulus radio clusters in Fayetteville and Fort Smith, Arkansas. Ryan, who moved to Arkansas in 2003 after learning the ropes in Syracuse, continues to hold his title as PD and afternoon drive host for top 40 Power 105.7 (KMCK) in Fayetteville and PD for rhythmic 102.7 The Vibe (KBBQ) in Fort Smith. (You might recall seeing his name here in 2009, when he was hired to produce imaging for Syracuse's MOViN' 100.3 and New Country WOLF 105.1.)
Ryan also tells us that he's proud to welcome Josh Bertaccini on-board as PD for Fayetteville's 92.1 The Ticket (KQSM) starting July 13. Ryan reminds us Bertaccini worked for WHEN as a sports talk host and update anchor from 2002-2004... and a search of our own archives reminds us of Bertaccini's stint in television, as a part-time sports anchor for NBC affiliate WSTM. Most recently, Bertaccini had been working for SiriusXM as a talk show host and producer.
Our thanks to JJ Ryan for remembering us here "back home" at CNYRadio.com ... anytime you've got news to share about current happenings in local radio or TV -- or updates on the whereabouts of former CNY broadcasters -- feel free to drop us a line at cnyradio@cnyradio.com. You can also use the "Contact" form in the menu at the top of the page... we'll get it either way.
