UTICA/ROME — When WUTR and WFXV revived local news last month, they only hired one meteorologist. So what happens when Jeff Matthews needs a night off? We found out tonight, when former WKTV chief meteorologist Amanda Gabeler appeared in his place.
Some CNYTVNews.com readers wrote in this evening to let us know — and we also spotted Gabeler in a topical video promo posted on Facebook, teasing tonight’s 10pm newscast on Fox 33 (WFXV). A native of Gloversville, Gabeler joined WKTV in 2000, and became chief meteorologist along the way. She left WKTV in 2007.
