BOSTON -- Former NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) reporter and anchor Heather Hegedus has a new job, starting today. She's at Fox 25 (WFXT) in Boston. And forget about the usual "first day orientation" stuff, she's jumping right into the fire, filling-in for the station's 6pm anchor tonight.
Last week, TVSpy reported on Hegedus' move to the new job from her most-recent station, Hartford CBS affiliate WFSB, where she's been since leaving Syracuse in 2009. That national trade site reported Hegedus' primary job at Fox 25 will be anchoring on weekend evenings.
Normally, she might be reporting on a Tuesday, but Hegedus said on Facebook she'll be anchoring tonight, as primary 6pm anchor Maria Stephanos is out sick today.
The new job is a homecoming for Hegedus, a native of eastern Massachusetts.
